WWE colossus at the end?

Newly introduced and highly touted WWE heavyweight Odyssey Jones has been quietly removed from the roster. Allegedly there are serious allegations in the room

Just a month ago, the 184-pound man was introduced to WWE in a big way and praised as a “gamechanger” – now his career could be over due to serious allegations.

Omari Jahi Palmer, known by his ring name Odyssey Jones, has been quietly removed from the official roster of the wrestling league and his profile on the promotion’s official website has been deleted. He did not appear on the latest edition of the Monday Night RAW TV show without explanation, despite having just been involved in a storyline with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day, with whom he had teamed up after the summer highlight SummerSlam. The reason for the sudden disappearance is allegations of domestic violence, as reported by the usually well-informed portal Fightful.

WWE out due to domestic violence allegations?

Details of what allegedly happened are scarce, according to Fightful it is unclear whether there would have been an arrest or charges. The social media account WRKD Wrestling, which seemed to have some insight into WWE in recent years, added that the allegations had been made back in July – with no word on when WWE found out.

WWE’s action seems harsher than in similar cases, when there were suspensions but no expungements as in the Jones case. Pro Wrestling Insider reports that behind the scenes, the impression is already that Jones’ WWE career is over. Well-known wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer also fueled speculation on his Wrestling Observer Radio.

Odyssey Jones only recently introduced in a big way

A native of Coram, New York, Jones has been rumored to be a potential star of the future in WWE for several years: The former Syracuse University offensive guard caught WWE’s attention at a tryout in 2018 and landed a contract the following year

In the summer of 2021, the charismatic colossus – whose look and aura is often compared to that of a young Mark Henry – joined the NXT developmental squad before a torn patellar tendon slowed him down. After his comeback, Jones was promoted to the RAW roster at the 2023 WWE Draft under the direction of former boss Vince McMahon, but was not initially used.

McMahon’s successor as creative director, “Triple H” Paul Levesque, reintroduced Jones to RAW a month ago and told fans that there was still a lot to come from him, that he would be a “gamechanger”. Now the game may be over before it’s even begun.
