The final is a repeat of the US Open quarter-finals last month.
Top-seeded world number two Aryna Sabalenka and home Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen will face off in the final at the WTA tournament in Wuhan, China. Australian and US Open champion Sabalenka overcame major early problems to beat the two positions lower-ranked US-American Coco Gauff 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the semi-finals on her way to her third title win in Wuhan after 2018 and 2019. Zheng won the Chinese semi-final duel with Wang Xinyu comfortably 6-3, 6-4.
