In his first game for the Houston Rockets, Dennis Schröder suffered a clear defeat. Franz Wagner continues to rack up points. The NBA on Tuesday morning.
It was a debacle for the Rockets in the first game with Schröder in his new kit. The guard, who came from the Boston Celtics in exchange for Daniel Theis, who announced on Monday that he would play for Germany at the European Championships this year, was brought in from the bench for 18 minutes and scored a meagre four points. The Rockets remain in last place in the West, Utah clearly on course for the play-offs.
The Orlando Magic with rookie Franz Wagner are also stuck in the cellar. The young team from Florida suffered its third defeat in a row with a 111-121 loss to the Denver Nuggets and is now last in the Eastern Conference. Wagner, however, was convincing with 26 points and eight rebounds. His older brother Moritz was absent again due to a rib contusion.
Hartenstein wins California duel – Nets can win
Isaiah Hartenstein, meanwhile, won 119-104 with the short-handed Los Angeles Clippers against the Golden State Warriors. The 23-year-old recorded nine points and six rebounds, converting all four of his throws, including a three-pointer. Steph Curry made eight threes and scored 33 points for the Dubs, “Splash Brother” Klay Thompson had a weak evening – seven points, 1/5 “from downtown”.
The Brooklyn Nets, meanwhile, were able to stop their free fall – the 109:85 against the Sacramento Kings was the first win after eleven defeats in a row. Seth Curry, who came from Philadelphia in the Harden trade, made a strong debut with 23 points for the Nets, who had to do without Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
