Wagner and Magic fail in thriller against White and the Bulls

The Orlando Magic remain in crisis. Despite a close game against the Chicago Bulls, they were once again unable to get the win – and Franz Wagner was unable to change that. Instead, Coby White was the deciding factor with a career-best performance.

The Orlando Magic had to accept the next bitter defeat on Thursday evening. In a hard-fought duel against the Chicago Bulls, they narrowly lost, although they were still leading by nine points in the fourth quarter. Franz Wagner scored 18 points and six assists, but struggled with his shooting percentage (6/17 FG, 0/3 three pointers).

Coby White, on the other hand, had a dream day and was the outstanding man on the court with 44 points (career-high). The Bulls guard scored his team’s last nine points and put Chicago in the lead with a clinical three-pointer with two minutes left on the clock. Josh Giddey (19 points, 13 rebounds, nine assists) and Tre Jones (20 points) also impressed for the visitors, who secured the win thanks to strong defense in the final minutes.

For Orlando, who have now lost five games in a row, Paolo Banchero and Cole Anthony were the top scorers with 20 points each. However, the Magic only made nine of their 33 attempts from beyond the arc, which proved to be the deciding factor. After a disappointing 1-6 homestand, the next challenge awaits in Milwaukee.
