London – US Open winner Emma Raducanu has parted ways with her German coach Torben Beltz after around half a year.
She wants to try a different training model and hopes to receive temporary support from the British Tennis Association (LTA), the 19-year-old Brit announced in a statement.
Raducanu thanked Beltz for his training, professionalism and commitment. “He has a huge heart,” the Toronto-born world number eleven said. Raducanu had triumphed sensationally as a qualifier in New York in September.
Beltz was also the coach of former world number one Angelique Kerber for a long time. The German number one had parted ways with her coach after last season, who had coached her three times in her career so far with interruptions.
