Union Berlin will have to do without Max Kruse for their cup match at third division side Waldhof Mannheim.
The Eisernen will be without Kruse when they travel to the Kurpfalz for their second-round match at SV Waldhof on Wednesday evening. The 33-year-old is slowed down by a foot injury that does not allow him to play.
“I hope he will return to the team as soon as possible,” said Union coach Urs Fischer, who hopes the creative player will be used in the Bundesliga home match against FC Bayern Munich on Saturday.
Kruse has made eight Bundesliga appearances this season (kicker average grade: 3.06), but did not feature in the 1-1 draw with Stuttgart last weekend. He also made appearances for the Union in the DFB Cup (one game) and the Conference League (three).
