Two champions for the ADAC GT Masters: Rutronik presents first driver duo

The Audi Team Rutronik Racing presents the first two of a total of four drivers in its line-up for the 2022 ADAC GT Masters

season.

Rutronik Racing presents Luca Engstler and Patric Niederhauser as the crew of the first of two new Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II that the racing team from Baden-Württemberg will field in the 2022 ADAC GT Masters season.

For Niederhauser, it’s a return to the team. In 2019, the Swiss won the ADAC GT Masters title for Rutronik together with Kelvin van der Linde. His new team-mate Engstler is the reigning champion of the ADAC TCR Germany. As a duo, Niederhauser/Engstler will pilot the number 15 Rutronik Audi. The line-up of the second Rutronik Audi will be announced at a later date.

“I have many great successes and special memories with Rutronik Racing. Together we want to continue this successful time,” Niederhauser is looking forward to his return to the team after a one-year break.

Meanwhile, it will not only be Rutronik’s debut for TCR Germany Champion Engstler, but also his debut in GT racing. “For me, this is the start of a completely new chapter in my racing career. I’m glad that I can tackle this together with Rutronik Racing,” says Franz Engstler’s son.

Rutronik team boss Fabian Plentz welcomes the first of his two driver duos for 2022 with the words: “It’s great that we can bring a competitive duo to the start in the ADAC GT Masters with Patric and Luca. I am sure that the combination of the different experiences of the two drivers will result in a promising recipe for success. “
