Test not passed: UFL will not be released until December

In a dress rehearsal, Strikerz Inc. wanted to check whether its own community perceived UFL as ready for release. Now the die is cast – the release of the soccer simulation has been postponed once again

FC competitor UFL did not make it. Despite numerous improvements, the game from Strikerz Inc. failed the final community test. The consequences that the studio would draw from this had already been clear in advance. On Monday, the developer confirmed: “It was not an easy decision, but after analyzing your feedback and a lot of game data, we will postpone the release of UFL.”

Specifically, this means that Strikerz Inc. will no longer meet the originally planned release date of September 12. The release of the full version of UFL will therefore be postponed by almost two months to December 5. “Taking a little more time will allow us to provide the best possible experience,” the studio explained the move in an official statement.

What UFL is still missing for release

Eugene Nashilov, CEO of the UFL developer, commented in a reply to the game account’s X-Post and went into more detail about the game’s existing problems. The aim is to “fix critical bugs, add more game modes and polish everything up”. In doing so, he and his team want to continue the progress that has been made since the alpha and well-received first open beta in June.

In the meantime, the general direction of the game will not change. “The game has been tested frequently, the major difficulties have been identified, the direction in which core and meta updates should go at release and during game operation has been outlined,” says Nashilov, for whom one thing in particular is now important: ‘Now we have to focus on delivering. ’

Criticism between a lot of understanding

The studio headquartered in Paphos, Cyprus, did not get away completely without criticism. User ‘Grotesque’ criticized the fact that Strikerz Inc. was already offering the €15 premium package of the game, which is actually free, for purchase. “You received real money from us for early access,” he addressed Nashilov directly, who had a conciliatory offer ready: ‘You can either cancel the pre-order or stick with it and start from November 28th. ’

In fact, the community seems to be giving Strikerz Inc. the credit it deserves. At least the responses to the announcement of the release delay are largely understanding. “Tough decision, but I think it’s the right one,” commented X user ‘Adam’. The account ‘Burton’ pointed out that it was “best to be 100 percent sure” and praised the developer’s open ear for the community. According to Nashilov, this is not the first time that this strategy has paid off.

However, Strikerz Inc. also seems to be aware that players’ patience is not endless. Which is why the announcements for the beginning of December are full-bodied: “We strive to fulfill your needs and expectations. With your support, we are convinced that UFL will be extraordinary. “
