Roger Stilz completes Regensburg management

After the end of managing director Christian Keller’s term in office, Jahn Regensburg has decided to divide responsibility between two shoulders in the future. With Roger Stilz, the realignment is now complete.

Roger Stilz will continue to hold his post as sporting director at Belgian second division club Waasland-Beveren until mid-November, before taking up his new role as managing director of sport at Jahn Regensburg on 1 December. At the current second-division runners-up, the 44-year-old will be responsible for the sporting area at Jahn KG.

“In recent weeks, I have found all the talks I have had with those responsible at SSV Jahn to be professional, full of integrity, goal-oriented and clear. In addition, I have sensed a conviction on the other side that is important for me to make such a change. I am very pleased about the trust that has been placed in me and, starting in December, I would like to play my part in a successful future and further develop what already exists,” Stilz is quoted as saying on the SSV website.

“Through a five-stage process, we have begun the search for suitable candidates for the position of managing director of sports at Jahn KG. I would like to express my gratitude to Christian Keller for the organisation and support of this process, who was always on hand to advise and assist the SSV Jahn committees in this important decision. As a result, Roger Stilz made the best impression,” said Hans Rothammer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

This concludes the personnel realignment of the management of Jahn KG. After the announced end of Christian Keller as sole managing director on 31 October Regensburg had decided to implement a two-managing director solution. A solution was already presented in mid-October in the form of Philipp Hausner as managing director for the commercial area.

Born in Switzerland, Stilz played primarily in the second Swiss league during his active career. In 2016, he acquired his football teaching licence and worked as a co-coach for Victoria Hamburg, Hamburger SV and 1. FC Nürnberg. He was also head of the youth centre at FC St. Pauli for many years before taking up his post as sports director at Waasland-Bereven. In addition, the 44-year-old has a degree in German and history as well as training as a primary school teacher.
