PHIRONIX eSports presents VBL squad

Karlsruher SC is entering eSports for the first time this season. The squad for PHIRONIX eSports, the brand of the Baden-based club, has now been announced.

Karlsruher SC will compete in the Virtual Bundesliga (VBL) for the first time in the 2022/2023 season under the PHIRONIX eSports brand. The team from Baden has now announced its squad.

Kevin ‘Kev1n’ Reiser is not only the project manager, but also an active controller. Born in Karlsruhe, he was European champion in 2014 and most recently took part in the VBL for 1. FC Nürnberg.

International and national experience

Reiser will captain the team, completed by Khalid ‘KhalidGRL10’ Gürel, Andreas ‘Andy’ Gube and Lukas ‘Sakul’ Vonderheide. The latter comes from FOKUS CLAN and is playing for a football club in the virtual Bundesliga for the first time.

Gube last played for Eintracht Frankfurt, where he left after three years of solid cooperation. The 23-year-old already reached the Top 8 of the Grand Final and also qualified for the Grand Final of the Individual Championship. ‘KhalidGRL10’ comes to the Wildpark from VfL Wolfsburg. He established himself with the Wolves last season in the North-West Division. The team is coached by Maurice ‘xMo030’ Behnke.

The first matchdays of the season will take place on 15 and 16 November 2022, with the final for the German Club Championship in FIFA 23 coming up in March 2023. The reigning German Club Champion is RB Leipzig.
