Persistent knee problems: Kawhi will miss the start of the season

Kawhi Leonard, the star of the Los Angeles Clippers, has to take an indefinite break at the beginning of the NBA season. While he recovers from a painful inflammation in his right knee, the question remains as to how this setback will affect the Clippers and their season ambitions.

The 33-year-old continues to struggle with inflammation in his right knee and will be out indefinitely for the time being. This is reported by multiple sources, including ESPN. The Clippers open their season on October 23 against the Phoenix Suns in the new Intuit Dome.

The superstar has missed the entire preseason and has not been able to participate in training. The club and the two-time Finals MVP continue to work hard on his rehabilitation to ensure that he stays fit in the long term.

Kawhi Leonard: injury history and future

Leonard has a long history of injuries. He was out for the entire 2021-22 season after undergoing surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament in 2021. Although he managed to play 68 games last season and averaged 23.7 points and 6.1 rebounds, the playoffs were another disappointment for him: he only played in two games due to knee problems.

The departures of Paul George to Philadelphia and Russell Westbrook to Denver have further complicated the situation for the Clippers. Leonard remains crucial for the team and the people in charge in LA hope that he will be able to return to the court soon.
