After a curious final, the winner of the Valorant Stage 1 Masters has been decided. OpTic Gaming was able to prevail against the strong team of LOUD
OpTic Gaming won the first Valorant Masters of the year. The team from the USA secured the title with a 3:0 victory in the final against the Brazilians from LOUD. The latter left two European teams behind them during the tournament.
From Valorant newcomer to Masters winner
In the end it was not an easy victory – the 3:0 final score by rounds (13:9; 14:12; 15:13) looks clearer than the duel as a whole was. Both the second and the third game were decided in overtime.
Curiously, this was not the first meeting of the two teams in the tournament. LOUD originally won the Upper Bracket final against OpTic 2-1, but the US team then got a second chance in the Lower Bracket, which they used impressively with two 3-0 sweeps.
For OpTic Gaming, the success is a very special one. The organisation from the United States first entered the Valorant scene at the beginning of February. Two months later, the first prestigious tournament victory followed.
Accordingly, the joy after the game was great. “It feels good. The win means a lot to us,” said happy OpTic pro Victor ‘Victor’ Wong in the stream of the tournament. With the title win, the organisation has earned 200,000 US dollars in prize money.
