After NBA 2K23 and FIFA 23, the cover of NHL 23 will also be adorned by a female player. Sarah Nurse will have the honour of being the first woman on the cover of NHL. Last year she won the gold medal with the Canadian national team at the Olympic Games.
“It’s a great honour to be the first woman on the cover of the EA SPORTS NHL franchise,” commented the 27-year-old: “Hockey is truly for everyone, and I’m excited that NHL 23 celebrates the diversity and inclusion of the sport. I hope that the increased representation of women in such a prominent game will inspire young girls around the world to know that there is a place for them in hockey. “
Zegras anticipation for Michigan flip pass
At her side will be Trevor Zegras of the Anaheim Ducks. The 21-year-old, who has been playing in the NHL for three years, is one of the up-and-coming players of the future. “As someone who has been playing EA SPORTS NHL since he was a kid, being on the cover with Sarah this year is a dream come true,” Zegras said. “I can’t wait to play this year’s version with my friends and teammates, and I’m equally excited to see fans let loose with my Michigan flip pass that the team at EA SPORTS brought to the game.” This now-famous pass involves Zegras lobbing the puck over the goal to a teammate while standing behind it.
Unlike in NBA or even FIFA, the duo will be featured on every cover of the various versions. Which versions EA will launch, when they will be released and what is new will be announced tomorrow.
