We want to hear your opinion and assessment of MotoGP! The first sprint of the year is history – and the favorites have come out on top. Marc Marquez celebrated a commanding victory in Thailand ahead of his brother Alex and Francesco Bagnaia. It was to be expected that Ducati would dominate.
But what a performance by Ai Ogura?! The Japanese rider qualified directly for Q2 on Friday and made a sensational start from fifth place. In the past ten years, only two other rookies have managed to do that on their debut: Johann Zarco (2017) and Fabio Quartararo (2019).
And in the race? Ogura rode as if he had been in MotoGP forever! He kept up with the top stars, put world champion Bagnaia under pressure and only just missed out on the podium. Fourth place – an awesome debut!
But what does that mean? Is Ai Ogura really the next big thing? Can he win races and fight for the world title soon – or was this just a one-time moment of glory?
