Moto3 Barcelona FT2: Izan Guevara stays ahead on Friday

Izan Guevara claims Moto3 Friday best time in Barcelona – Not everyone improves their times in the afternoon – Diogo Moreira withdraws injured

With outside temperatures reaching 30 degrees, only about half the field managed to improve on their morning practice. Leopard Honda riders Dennis Foggia and Tatsuki Suzuki finished the session in second and third place, with just 65 thousandths separating the top three.

In the combined result for the day, Foggia is third behind Guevara and Daniel Holgado (KTM). Suzuki is fifth behind Jaume Masia (KTM). Ryusei Yamanaka (KTM) improved to sixth place. Andrea Migno (Honda), Kaito Toba (KTM), Sergio Garcia (GasGas) and Deniz Öncü (KTM) rounded off the top 10.

As things stand Ivan Ortola (KTM), Carlos Tatay (CFMoto), David Munoz (KTM) and Riccardo Rossi (Honda) would also go straight into Q2 in eleventh to 14th positions.

Suzuki caused the only crash of the afternoon practice at turn 5, while Josh Whatley had to park his Honda with a broken chain. Diogo Moreira (KTM) did not ride again. After the first practice session, his battered wrist was checked again. He will sit out the rest of the weekend.
