Luhukay: After Venlo, it’s over

After VVV Venlo, it’s over: Jos Luhukay has announced that the Dutch second division club will be his last stop as coach.

At the beginning of January, Luhukay had extended his contract with VVV Venlo by another year until summer 2023. Now the 58-year-old stressed in an interview with the newspaper “De Limburger”: “After Venlo, I won’t go anywhere. I won’t continue until I’m 75. “

However, Luhukay still has one goal: to lead Venlo, which he did not save from relegation last season, to promotion to the Eredivisie once again. But he will no longer be the coach there. “The day after promotion is the end for me. I have already told the club that.” He still feels “healthy and fit”, but wants to take it a little easier after this last stop.

In the current season, Venlo are in 10th place in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie table after 26 games, which, as things stand, would even entitle them to take part in the promotion play-offs.
