On Saturday evening, two favourites prevailed in the BBL: Ludwigsburg and Ulm left no stone unturned. Göttingen showed the right reaction to their recent defeats.
Göttingen is playing a good season, but recently lost twice in a row against Braunschweig and during the week in Bayreuth. The “Veilchen” gave the right answer to this small negative series on Saturday in Giessen. The victory was never really in danger. Since the beginning of the second quarter, the guests, for whom Kamar Baldwin excelled with 31 points, were in the lead and won in the end with 87:76. For the 46ers, who are in second last place, this is already the eighth defeat in a row in the BBL.
Ludwigsburg turn up the heat after the break
Bayreuth could have taken an important step towards the play-off places on Saturday evening – but nothing came of it. Although medi held their own in Ludwigsburg in the first half and were leading 43-39 after 20 minutes, the home side upped the ante after the break. Sharpshooter Jordan Hulls took control of the match and initially led his team.
In the end, it was a very evenly matched Giants team that turned the game around and pulled away in the second. Four players of the home side scored twice. In the end, the scoreboard showed a clear 87:67 victory for Ludwigsburg. After the defeat against Ulm, this was exactly the right answer.
Start-finish victory for Ulm
Apropos Ulm, ratiopharm was also in action at the same time. The guests took the reins at MBC and already led by 18 points in the first quarter. Even though the home team from Weißenfels rebelled at times, Ulm didn’t let anything go and won 89:75. Jaron Blossomgame stood out with 22 points.
