At the request of Leeds United and Watford, the Premier League has rescheduled two more matches.
Due to too many Corona cases, relegation-threatened Leeds United and Watford FC had asked the Premier League to reschedule their Boxing Day fixtures at Liverpool FC and Wolverhampton respectively.
That request was “regrettably” granted by the league on Thursday.
It is a continuation of chaotic days in England, where only four out of ten matches could be played last weekend. For the first time, Liverpool is now affected.
“The League,” it said in an official statement, “is aware that the decision to postpone these two matches will disappoint fans and understands their frustration at a special time of year when fans look forward to attending football matches.”
Disadvantage for Liverpool: Andy Robertson, who saw red against Tottenham, will now miss the following matchday at Chelsea FC rather than against Leeds.
