“Let’s hope so”: Musiala confident in contract negotiations

Jamal Musiala’s contract with FC Bayern Munich expires in the summer of 2026. Contract negotiations with the exceptional player are ongoing. He himself hopes for a positive outcome.

In September, sporting director Max Eberl exercised patience and spoke of “months of discussions”, and sporting director Christoph Freund also reported positive talks and was optimistic. President Herbert Hainer made it clear that “it has not yet failed due to money at FC Bayern”.

So the situation is clear: the record champions want to keep their most important player, Jamal Musiala, beyond the summer of 2026, when his current contract ends.

“The talks are ongoing, I can’t say anything more”

And the player himself? As early as October, Musiala had indicated that he was happy in Munich and could imagine extending his contract. Now, in an interview with the Süddeutsche Zeitung, he reported on his exchange with the club’s leadership – and expressed confidence.

“Let’s hope so,“ he said regarding a positive outcome to the negotiations. ‘Discussions are ongoing, but I can’t say anything more.’ So a timely decision does not appear to be imminent.

”One of the biggest clubs in the world”

Musiala said that he would be honored if Eberl saw him as the face of FC Bayern in the future. “Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world,” said the attacking midfielder, who does not want to put too much pressure on himself: “For me, it’s about having fun, working, continuing to improve, and hopefully winning games and titles.”
