The day of the Wimbledon draw is here and the ladies took a night off from thinking about their training and preparation to attend the WTA pre-Wimbledon party. There always seems to be a silly debate over whether muscular ladies can look attractive and the ladies were certainly proving that they can – and some!
Garbiñe Muguruza looked stunning in a white suit as she relaxed before what will surely be a demanding tournament for her. The stunning Spaniard certainly scored in the fashion stakes and a quick look at her Instagram account will show you that she looks just as dressed up to the nines at home as she does on the tennis court. Her appearance at the 2018 Oscars in a spectacular black dress is one of many photos that show her great fashion sense away from the court.
Garbine Muguruza is third seed at Wimbledon
The former world No.1 will be turning her attention fully to tennis over the next two weeks as Wimbledon unfolds. Garbine is currently seeded in 3rd and will play Britain’s Naomi Broady in the first round, as she starts the defence of her title. It is always a bit harder for a player when they get drawn against a home player, as the crowd can really get behind them.
2018 has not been as great a tennis season for Muguruza compared to 2017 when she won the Australian Open, US Open and Wimbledon. She is looking for her first Grand Slam win of 2018 and Wimbledon would be the perfect place to do that.
When does Wimbledon tennis 2018 start?
Wimbledon commences on Monday 2nd July with play starting from 11.30am on the outside courts. Action on the No.1 Court and Centre Court will start from 1pm. The schedule has not been announced just yet, but the Gentlemen’s and Ladies’ Singles First Round will be the first matches taking place.
Serena Williams is back after taking maternity leave and is seeded at 25, whilst Simona Halep is the in-form player going in as the top seed, followed by Caroline Wozniacki. Now the draw has taken place, everyone can look forward to the tennis on Monday.
