Paris – The French Open will take place this year without veteran Philipp Kohlschreiber.
The 38-year-old from Augsburg lost in the first round of qualifying against Frenchman
Enzo Couacaud 4-6, 6-7 (2-7) in the first round of qualifying and thus missed out on the main draw of the second Grand Slam tournament of the season.
Kohlschreiber will thus probably never serve in Roland Garros again. The long-time Davis Cup player has announced his intention to end his tennis career in the course of this year. Last year, Kohlschreiber reached the third round in Paris.
