The German tennis professional Dominik Koepfer was eliminated in the first round of the tournament in Newport in the USA.
The player from the Black Forest lost 4:6, 5:7 against the American Christopher Eubanks. Peter Gojowczyk is the only German to reach the last 16. The 32-year-old from Munich had won his first-round match against Ugo Humbert from France 7-5, 6-4 on Monday. Gojowczyk, for whom it was his first win since February, will now face American number two seed John Isner.
