Klitschkos warn of nuclear disaster

After a dangerous nuclear power plant fire in the middle of the Ukraine war, Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko warn the world of a new Chernobyl.

A fire at Europe’s largest nuclear power plant caused by Russia’s war on Ukraine is worrying the world – and former boxing brothers Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko are issuing an urgent warning of disaster.

“If the war in Ukraine is not STOPPED NOW, the world will see another Chernobyl/Fukushima, in combination,” the Klitschkos posted in the message on their Twitter account. “Ukraine has four nuclear power plants and the Russian army is shooting missiles and dropping bombs right next to them. Don’t look away, stop the Russian invasion NOW. “

Vitali Klitschko is at the centre of the war as mayor of Kiev, younger brother Vladimir has travelled home to support him, the two are reportedly on a death list to be executed by mercenaries on behalf of Russia’s President Vladimir Putin.

Fire at nuclear power plant worries Klitschkos

Current background to the appeal is fighting near the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant.

Andiy Tuz, spokesman for the power plant, reported in a video posted on Telegram that a block of the power plant had been hit. The reactor was not in operation due to renovation work, radiation had not escaped, but there was still nuclear fuel in it and there was a “real danger”.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) had already warned that the fighting could damage Ukraine’s 15 nuclear reactors.
