In Douglas Luiz, Juventus Turin have acquired one of their absolute dream players in this transfer window. However, the Bianconeri are also digging deep into their pockets for the coveted Brazilian: Juve are transferring €50 million to Birmingham, the club announced on Sunday. The sum is to be paid in four installments, with an additional €1.5 million to be added for Aston Villa.

“Only” with money, however, the top performer (35 PL appearances with 14 scoring points in pre-season) could not be prised away. Juve also promised Aston Villa a duo whose transfers became official on Monday: Samuel Iling-Junior is worth €14 million to the Premier League club, to which a maximum of a further three million could be added. Enzo Barrenechea is initially worth eight million euros, although the sum could rise to eleven million due to variables.
Iling-Junior, a current England U-21 international (five appearances, two goals) and left-footed midfielder, has already made 36 Serie A appearances at the age of 20, scoring two goals and providing three assists. Barrenechea, the 23-year-old Argentinian who plays in defensive midfield, was loaned out to Frosinone Calcio last season, for whom he made 39 appearances (one goal, one assist).
