Jake Paul wins his next boxing match against a UFC great. The Youtuber sends Nate Diaz to the boards.
Clear affair: Jake Paul also put UFC legend Nate Diaz in his place. The Youtuber and actor won his eighth boxing match against Nate Diaz on Sunday night by unanimous decision on points.
Paul, who had also defeated MMA star Anderson Silva, sent Conor McGregor’s former rival crashing to the floor in the fifth round and was clearly the better fighter over the agreed ten rounds.
The 26-year-old is now on seven wins – his only defeat coming in his last fight against Tommy Fury. Fury was Paul’s only opponent who came from boxing and not from another combat sport.
Jake Paul has built a successful business model around his show-heavy fights over the past few years, and one that is much admired, especially by his young fans. Brother Logan has also built a martial arts mainstay: On Sunday night he was part of the WWE mega show SummerSlam and defeated Highflyer Ricochet in a spectacular opening fight – after which he flew from Detroit to Dallas to attend Jake’s fight still.
Jake Paul takes advantage against Nate Diaz
For Diaz, who has 16 wins and 11 losses in the UFC, it was his first ever boxing match. The 38-year-old started off by making fun of his opponent in the ring until he took a hard left from Paul in the fifth.

Diaz got back on his feet quickly but was rarely able to put pressure on his opponent, who had tanked at Dallas’ American Airlines Center. “I wish I would have done better,” he said after the duel.
By the end of the fight, Diaz was visibly tiring, which could have been due to the agreed-upon weight class. In the UFC he fights at a weight of around 77 kilos, for the Paul fight he was six kilos heavier.
