Bamberg lost the traditional comparison against Oldenburg, before Bayern surprisingly lost the top game in Bonn in the evening.
The league leader conceded a 61:96 (27:48) defeat in the top match at Telekom Baskets Bonn on Tuesday evening and at the same time the highest defeat of the season. Bonn, on the other hand, reduced the gap to the leader to two points. The best scorers were Javontae Hawkins with 23 points for Bonn and Deshaun Thomas (14) for the Munich team.
In the first half, the hosts dominated at will. The Bonners scored quick points again and again and scored with every second shot. They were also usually one step faster with the rebounds than the overtaxed Munich team. So Bonn was able to pull away point by point and go into the break with a clear 48:27 lead. The guests, who were still without coach Andrea Trincheri, did not find their way into the game at all in the second half, so that the gap became bigger and bigger.
EWE Baskets Oldenburg had a clear victory. Led by a strong Max Heidegger, who scored 33 points, they won 106:83 (53:49) at Brose Bamberg. The win means that the Lower Saxons have left the relegation places for the first time since the start of the season.
