Hertha BSC has received seven million euros from the federal government’s Corona funding programme. According to information, the funding application submitted in October 2021 was approved in February. The money has since flowed.
For accounting reasons, the federal funds booked in the second half of 2021 appear in the financial report of Hertha BSC GmbH & Co. KGaA published by the Nuremberg auditing and tax consulting firm Mazars GmbH. We have therefore applied for, been granted and been paid bridging aid III from the federal Corona funding programme. “
Hertha recorded only marginal ticketing revenues in the almost 75,000-seater Olympiastadion in the top games in December and January against Borussia Dortmund (5000 spectators), FC Bayern Munich (3000) and in the DFB Cup Round of 16 against Union Berlin (3000).
Hertha BSC, which has received a total of €374 million from investor Lars Windhorst since the summer of 2019, had also generated a deficit of €78 million in the 2020/21 season due to the Corona pandemic. The current financial report puts the half-year deficit for the 2021/22 season at 28.2 million euros. For the entire season, a deficit of 60.3 million euros is calculated. Accordingly, liabilities fell from 99 to 87 million euros as of 31 December 2021.
