Golden Shoe: Guirassy draws level with Mbappé – Kane extends his lead

Harry Kane has extended his lead in the European goalscoring charts and continues to lead the way. PSG star Kylian Mbappé now has to share second place behind the Bayern striker, while Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy has moved into second place. Leipzig’s Lois Openda moves closer to the duo

Harry Kane was unable to prevent the bitter 3:2 defeat at newcomers Heidenheim, but at least he added to his goal tally with the opening goal to put FC Bayern 1:0 ahead. With his 32nd goal of the season, the Englishman continues to lead the European Sports Media (ESM) Goalgetter Ranking with 64 points.

The 30-year-old extended his lead to second place because Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring in Paris St. Germain’s 1-1 draw against Clermont Foot after coming on as a substitute, but then failed to score himself. The French runners-up must now share second place with a Stuttgart player: Serhou Guirassy provided the goal of the day with his strike in VfB’s 1-0 win in the Bundesliga’s top duel and, like Mbappé, now has 24 goals and 48 points to his name.

Argentinian world champion Lautaro Martinez slips off the podium, even though he was involved in Inter Milan’s last-minute 2-1 draw in Udine through Davide Frattesi with a crack at the post

Openda increases the pressure

Only two goals away from Martinez is Lois Openda, who had a hand in all four RB goals in Leipzig’s 4-1 win at SC Freiburg: two goals, two assists – the Belgian was simply unstoppable and, with 21 goals and 42 points, is now within sight of the podium of European goal scorers.

After two games without a goal of his own, defending champion Erling Haaland scored the interim 3:1 in ManCity’s 4:2 win at Crystal Palace and is now in 6th place with 19 goals (38 points).

While Mohamed Salah’s late penalty in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw at Man United is slowly closing in on the top 10 with 17 goals, FCA captain Ermedin Demirovic moved up to 20th place with goal number 15 of the season in Augsburg’s 3-1 defeat at TSG Hoffenheim. He is tied with Stuttgart’s Deniz Undav (15 goals, 30 points) in 22nd place
