FC Bayern has agreed to a collaboration with former NBA champion Jack White. The club has since confirmed the signing itself.
According to reports, the 27-year-old’s contract with the Munich club runs until the end of the season. However, since the deadline for registering players in the EuroLeague has already expired, he will only be able to play in the BBL.
“I can defend, rebound, play above the rim and shoot well from mid-range and three-pointers,” said White, describing his own abilities. “I want to play hard, be a good teammate and make the most of this opportunity.”
Most recently, White played in the Australian NBL for Melbourne United, with whom he reached the NBL Championship Series. However, he and his team narrowly lost to the Illawarra Hawks (2-3) at the end of March. During the season, he averaged 13.3 points and 8.9 rebounds.
The 6’7” forward is a good size and a good defender. He also has a solid shot (36.1 percent from outside last season) and a high basketball IQ.
Jack White: NBA champion with the Denver Nuggets
White played for Duke for four years in college, including with Zion Williamson and R.J. Barrett, and was captain of the team for two of those years. In 2021, the Australian won an NBL title with United and then moved up to the NBA. There he played for the Memphis Grizzlies and Denver Nuggets, with whom he also became champion in 2023.
He appeared in a total of 21 NBA games, averaging 1.3 points and 1.4 rebounds in 6.2 minutes per game.
