EA SPORTS has released a patch for the final phase of FIFA 23 with Title-Update 16. The developer wants to provide for a world premiere in the football simulation – however, he has apparently made a mistake in the process.
Nouhaila Benzina made history on the second matchday of the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. The Moroccan defender became the first ever World Cup player to wear a hijab against South Korea (1-0). The next novelty for the 25-year-old follows with the help of EA SPORTS: Her player model is to be updated in FIFA 23 as part of Title Update 16 – including headgear.
This will also make Benzina’s virtual likeness the first of its kind in the history of the football simulation to be played with a hijab. EA SPORTS announced the release of Title Update 16 via social media early Wednesday lunchtime.
Download and install available – Benzina disappears
However, at least some players were able to download and install the patch before. However, this resulted in a small bug, as the content overview of the new features is subsequently displayed every time the player goes to the main menu – and not only as usual at the first start after download.
The fact that Benzina completely disappears from the Moroccan squad after downloading and installing the game is also piquant. The player can no longer be found in the FIFA 23 World Cup mode. This seems to be an error on the part of EA SPORTS. It is possible that Title Update 16 was inadvertently made available too early.
The publisher has not reacted publicly to this circumstance so far. The fact that the revision of Petina’s player model is supposed to be the highlight of the patch is obvious when looking at the other improvements: Small display and settings errors as well as visual updates make up the remaining points in the patch notes.
