The eighth title update for FIFA 22 is supposed to take care of the drag to drag move, missing player changes on crosses and overmotivated goalkeepers.
It’s only been about a week since EA SPORTS made the seventh Title Update and the fourth Live Tuning Update available to console players of FIFA 22. Both patches don’t seem to have been sustainable, the developer already pushes the eighth title update behind.
The focus is once again on the gameplay – and a part of the team that EA SPORTS hasn’t been able to get to grips with for months: The goalkeepers are supposed to “in rare cases” rush towards the opposing attacker in possession of the ball, although they were not instructed to do so.
The developer wants to drive this stubbornness out of the keepers with Title Update 8. In addition, another skill move is being adapted: The Drag to Drag will be interrupted earlier in the animation, as long as it is executed with the correct analogue input.
Last minute goals do not count
Other gameplay fixes deal with the lack of automatic player changes after opponent crosses, last-minute goals not counting towards the result and a slightly too long first kick-off animation in co-op matches.
Among the modes affected by Title Update 8 are VOLTA and Pro Clubs: VOLTA ARCADE was sometimes displayed as unavailable, although the game form could be selected. In addition, red balls were occasionally used on a red background, which led to visual problems.
Info display and player faces
In Pro Clubs mode, the information about clubs and Virtual Pros could disappear in the course of drop-in invitations. Adjustments to kits and stadiums are part of the standard repertoire of FIFA 22 patches, also 51 new player faces will be added via additional server update.
For PC players via Origin and Steam, Title Update 8 should be available for download later on Tuesday. Console users on Xbox One, Xbox Series X
