Unlucky things rarely come alone – but this is true in the case of Fabian Nürnberger, as the 22-year-old was not suspended for compulsory matches by the DFB Sports Court despite his sending-off in 1. FC Nürnberg’s test against FC Ingolstadt (0:7).
The club had shown itself disastrously against the Schanzers on Saturday, the 0:7 against the second division bottom team caused head-shaking not only at the Valznerweiher. FCN coach Robert Klauß was also “not amused” by the dismissal of Nürnberger, who was sent off early for kicking (45th), as the midfielder was threatened with a mandatory game suspension.
That is now off the table, as the DFB sports court sentenced Nürnberger “only” to a ban of three test matches. This means that the left-footed player will be available for the fifth-placed team in the table for the visit of Dynamo Dresden (Sunday, 1.30 p.m.).
