FC 25: How FC IQ and Rush influence scouting

While there have been hardly any changes to talent scouting in recent years, new FC 25 features are forcing adjustments to the system. In focus: player roles and rush games

Maximize the squad value. Every now and then, clubs adopt this transfer plan – for example FC Schalke 04 under “diamond eye” Ben Manga. The idea behind it: Find talented players, develop them athletically and sell them for big money. An approach that can also be implemented in EA SPORTS FC. The most important tool for this: The scouting tool

Once the country to which the scout is to travel has been selected and the few search criteria have been set, it’s time to keep your fingers crossed. With a bit of luck, a so-called platinum talent could be found.

Player roles also in the scouting focus

The way of searching has not changed in recent years – but there are new possibilities for FC 25. If only because of the new FC IQ feature, whose driving force is the Football Manager-like player roles. Logically, these also have an influence on scouting. The developer’s deep dive states that “three different roles” can be searched for within the selected positions

In addition, “up to four specific positions” can now be scouted – regardless of whether a creative attacking midfielder, a shot-stopper, an assisting goalkeeper or an inverted winger is required. Previously, it was only possible to search for a general position. The countries to be traveled to will also be expanded – 160 destinations will be available in future.

5v5 matches in the academy: A rush to the finish

Not only FC IQ, but also the new game mode Rush has an impact on youth work. This is intended to create “a new way of interacting with the youth academy”. In concrete terms, this means that you can play 5v5 matches with your youth players. This gives you “the flexibility to play with these youth players based on their current overall rating or use their full potential to see how they might perform on the big stage in the future.”

Every two months there should be tournaments like this, in which successful participation is worthwhile. Because winning can “significantly boost the development of your youth players, accelerate their growth and help them reach their full potential faster”. The goal of maximizing squad value can therefore be achieved much faster
