Fabio Quartararo warns after MotoGP test: “Yamaha have reached the limit”

The alarm bells are ringing at Yamaha after the MotoGP test in Mandalika (Indonesia): Champion Fabio Quartararo no longer sees any potential for improvement

Yamaha seems to have fallen behind with the 2022 version of the M1. Even Fabio Quartararo’s second place on the final MotoGP test day in Mandalika (Indonesia) cannot hide that fact. The reigning World Champion’s comments after the final day echo those of the previous test days.

“We have reached the limit. I felt at the limit everywhere and the lap time was good, but I expected a little more,” Quartararo sounds the alarm after three days in Indonesia. And that’s not the only worrying statement from the Frenchman.

“I honestly don’t know where we could improve,” he adds. “When all of a sudden you feel the front moving everywhere, it’s spinning everywhere at the back and you’re touching the ground with your elbow everywhere, it’s difficult to find more time. ”

Other MotoGP manufacturers are developing more intensively

At this stage of the year, it seems as if a season similar to that experienced by his world champion predecessor Joan Mir last year is blooming for him as the defending champion. Much like Suzuki a year ago, Yamaha is now lagging behind in the MotoGP factory development race.
