Enea Bastianini parts ways with long-time manager Carlo Pernat

After almost a decade, manager legend Carlo Pernat and Enea Bastianini go their separate ways – The MotoGP star will rely on the expertise of an agency in the future

Enea Bastianini, who will compete for the Tech3 team with a KTM in the upcoming MotoGP season, has announced the separation from manager Carlo Pernat. Since his early days in Moto3, Bastianini has relied on Pernat’s experience and extensive contacts in the MotoGP paddock.

But after almost a decade, the Italian is ending this collaboration and will in future be represented by the new agency MSM, led by Enrico Zanarini, as an official statement on Friday confirmed.

The MSM statement said: “Dear friends of MSM, we are delighted to announce that Enea Bastianini, the MotoGP sensation, has entered into a strategic partnership with MSM, entrusting the management of his career to CEO Enrico Zanarini, a recognized authority in motorsport.

“This collaboration brings new momentum to Bastianini’s goals, with a focus on the upcoming MotoGP season and strengthening his quest for a leading position in the championship.” In 2024, Bastianini finished fourth in the World Championship.

Pernat’s advancing age and health problems had already prompted Bastianini to hire an agency to acquire personal sponsors, while Pernat continued to negotiate contracts.

The current financial crisis at KTM, which only guarantees secured participation until 2025, has, however, created new pressure to act. The four KTM riders – Pedro Acosta, Brad Binder, Maverick Vinales and Bastianini – must now look for alternatives for their future in MotoGP.

Bastianini is the only top Italian rider without any connection to the VR46 academy or its management, similar to Fabio Di Giannantonio. However, despite not having any connection to VR46, Di Giannantonio has been able to ride for Valentino Rossi’s team since last season and will compete there with the current factory Ducati in 2025.
