Eleven team members of Alba Berlin have tested positive for the Corona virus. The next game is to be postponed
“Follow-up tests to the positive coronavirus tests recorded at the beginning of the week have so far revealed a total of eleven infections among Alba Berlin’s team, coaching and support staff. Those affected are doing well and all have no or only mild symptoms of the disease,” the club announced on Thursday.
The club has applied to the Basketball Bundesliga for a postponement and rescheduling of next Sunday’s game against the Lions from Braunschweig in accordance with the BBL match regulations.
Already on Monday, the Euroleague match against Panathinaikos Athens scheduled for Thursday had been cancelled due to Corona cases in the Greek team. According to the schedule, the Berliners would have to play Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel next Wednesday in the Euroleague and Fenerbahce Istanbul in Turkey two days later.
