EA stops selling games in Russia and Belarus

After Russian teams and players are to be removed from FIFA 22, EA now announces measures for Russia and Belarus.

EA SPORTS makes another statement against the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine. After the publisher will remove Russian teams and players from FIFA 22, FIFA Mobile and FIFA Online, the FUT mode now follows suit. Players and kits, as well as stadium items of Russian teams and the national team can no longer be obtained via packs. The price ranges have also been fixed.

The publisher is deeply shocked by the war “that is currently unfolding in Ukraine, and we now join the chorus of many voices around the world calling for peace and an end to the invasion,” the publisher clarifies on its own website and announces measures for the Russian market on top of that.

A sales stop is to take effect immediately: “Now we have made the decision to stop selling our games and content, including virtual currency bundles, in Russia and Belarus.” He added that this should remain the case as long as the war continues. “For this reason, our games and content will no longer be available for sale in our Russian store on Origin or the EA app; this includes in-game stores. “

Will Gazprom be removed from the Schalke jersey in FIFA 22?

The situation is still being monitored by EA, not only the football simulation is no longer available as of now, but also the ice hockey series NHL. Furthermore, EA will “also keep an eye on other areas of our games” and plan further measures and changes if necessary.

Among them could be the FC Schalke 04 jersey. After the cooperation with the main sponsor Gazprom was terminated prematurely and the club recently presented jerseys without the logo of the corporation, the revision of the FIFA jerseys is still pending.

The removal of the Russian national team and clubs is also a long time coming. EA already announced this step on 3 March – but it has not yet been implemented.
