Durant and Suns will likely work together on trades

Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns will likely work together this summer to find the right trade destination for the 36-year-old.

“Durant was caught off guard by the trade talks, but he is supposed to work with the Suns in the offseason so that he ends up with a contender,” reports Shams Charania (ESPN). According to the insider, four to six teams are said to have a serious interest in KD. Before the trade deadline, the Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat and Minnesota Timberwolves were already interested in the forward, and this summer, a few more teams are likely to be added to that list.

Brian Windhorst also reported last week that Durant’s days with the Suns are numbered. “They’re going to trade him, and he knows it,” he said. According to Windhorst, the Suns would rather give up Bradley Beal, but this is not possible due to his no-trade clause. Durant is under contract until the end of the upcoming season and will earn $52.7 million next season.

The Suns are only ranked eleventh in the West after two wins from the last eleven games and are already 3.5 games behind the Mavericks in last place.
