Due to 2G rule: Dresden postpones general meeting

Dynamo Dresden has again postponed the general meetings planned for Saturday due to the current Saxon coronavirus protection regulation.

“The general meetings planned for Saturday for the 2020 and 2021 financial years, as well as the Extraordinary General Meeting on the acquisition of shares in SG Dynamo Dresden Merchandising GmbH planned in advance, will again be postponed to a later date due to the current Saxon Coronavirus Protection Ordinance,” reads a statement from the club on Tuesday.

The event was originally planned as a 3G event. Since Monday, however, the 2G regulations have been in force in the Free State. According to these, only vaccinated and recovered persons have access to restaurants or events.

The new regulation could not ensure “that all members would be able to attend the most important club meeting of the year as planned,” the club announced, adding: “Since it is known that a significant proportion of people in Saxony, and thus also of SGD members, are not vaccinated, this effectively means that these non-vaccinated or non-recovered members would be excluded from attending.” A new date has not yet been announced, but more information is to follow soon.

The vaccination rate in Saxony is currently only 57.2 per cent of the population and thus has the lowest value of all federal states (for comparison, the rate in all of Germany is currently 67.2 per cent). In addition, the federal state has the highest 7-day incidence of all of Germany at 483.7.
