The Porsche team Allied Racing withdraws both cars before the DTM start – What Porsche says and how it continues for Ricardo Feller and Bastian Buus
A bombshell before the start of the 2025 DTM season: the new Porsche team Allied Racing, which originally wanted to compete with two Porsche 911 GT3 Rs for Ricardo Feller and Bastian Buus, has withdrawn its cars before the start of the season. This was confirmed by Porsche in an official statement.
“For Porsche, customer sport and customer teams are of outstanding importance. They form the foundation of our motorsport commitment,” Porsche announced. “That is why the short-notice cancellation of the two registrations by Allied Racing for the 2025 DTM has hit us very hard.”
This news is particularly bitter for the two Porsche contract drivers Buus and Feller, who had been preparing for their debut with Allied Racing in the DTM. Porsche is now working hard to develop an alternative program for the 2025 season.
Manthey is now once again the only Porsche team
However, given that most of the racing series have already started or are about to start the season, this task is proving extremely difficult. It remains uncertain whether an alternative solution can be found to allow at least one of the two drivers to compete in the 2025 DTM season.
“In addition, we are in constructive dialog with Allied Racing to discuss the consequences of the cancellation,” Porsche said. So far, there are no official reasons why the Bavarian racing team has to withdraw the two registrations for the 2025 DTM season.
Just a few weeks ago, tennis star Alexander Zverev caused a stir when he publicly announced that he had joined Allied Racing as a shareholder with his investment company Tie-Break Ventures, which he runs together with his brother Mischa.
If no replacement team can be found for Allied Racing, Manthey-Racing will field the only Porsche team in the DTM, as it did last year. However, this year the team is entering a third Porsche 911 GT3 R, driven by DTM newcomer Morris Schuring.
