The transfer of goalkeeper Timo Horn to champions Salzburg, already rumored in the media, is official. The 30-year-old German has signed a contract with Salzburg until the end of the season. After Horn left 1. FC Köln in the summer, he was recently without a club. He made a total of 329 competitive appearances for the German Bundesliga club. The 1.92-meter man is the “Bulls'” number two behind ÖFB team goalkeeper Alexander Schlager.
“After 21 years in Cologne, it had to be a club for me that suits me and that I can identify with,” said Horn. “Alexander Schlager played a very good first half of the season and impressed. I will try to support him in the best possible way for the rest of the season and still deliver my performances to give the coach arguments. “
Mantl will leave Salzburg
Sports director Bernhard Seonbuchner believes the Austrian serial champions are now well positioned in goal: “Our talks with Timo Horn were very good. He is not only an experienced goalkeeper who has already played many games at the highest level, but is also looking forward to this new challenge.”
