Circuit Superstars: Summer Patch brings hot content

Circuit Superstars will not only receive new tracks and cars with the Summer Patch, but also adaptations that will benefit eSports.

An original approach to sim racing came in October 2021 with Original Fire Games’ Circuit Superstars. The game celebrates the fascination of motorsport in a toy carpet format. A cuddly, almost nostalgic top-down perspective mixes with realistic driving physics.

Counting Early Access, Circuit Superstars has been gathering a dedicated fan community for almost one and a half years, fighting for supremacy on the virtual toy carpet in various leagues. For the full release, there was even a Top Gear Challenge on the Top Gear Test Track: real motorsport stars like Lando Norris, Roman Grosjean and Jamie Chadwick set a lap time that can be beaten in the game ever since.

Focus on eSports

Once and again, Original Fire Games expanded their digital toy motorsport world. The Summer Patch, released on 16 August 2022, adds more cars, tracks and improvements. In keeping with the season, the developers have added the Turbular Sprint Car, a striking new racing car for a real US feeling.

With the new track on the coast of Hawaii, the dirt racers with the swanky wing on the roof get their home track. The Poke Bowl is a classic oval filled with sand and mud that promises unpredictable racing action. However, the course is not a must: “We can’t wait to see what other combinations you’ll have fun with,” the developers announce.

The second new race track, the Sunny Side Park, will also be sunny. A course that should be especially suitable for beginners with its fast, flowing curves.

Also offline players will benefit

In order to do justice to the competitive idea behind Circuit Superstars and to further expand the eSports division, Original Fire Games is integrating further changes. With every race held online, players can now earn points for a ranking system. In addition, a driver business card will be set up to reflect status in all divisions of the game.

The time trial and grand prix modes will also receive a ranking system. By participating in the weekly online events, points can be collected for the driver card here as well. A ranking list will thus be created among the male and female pilots participating worldwide.

For offline players, it will be possible from the Summer Patch to collect points for Grand Prix participations in different difficulty levels. Certain point totals are also supposed to unlock further Cups.

In the past, it was a time problem to drive longer race series. This should have been solved by saving after each event.

Graphic and physical driving adjustments round off the big summer update. All in all, the new features and improvements could actually give Circuit Superstars a second summer and thus unite more gamers on the toy carpet. Crossplay was already integrated in the winter. In our test drives, there were always enough opportunities for competitive racing online.
