BVB agrees cooperation with “StatsBomb”

Borussia Dortmund has agreed on a partnership with “StatsBomb” The analysis options will be expanded for the coaching team.

From now on, BVB has “committed to using StatsBomb’s event data (…) and IQ analytics software in all areas of the club, including their performance, opponent and recruiting analytics,” according to the statement.

This should open up new opportunities for BVB and Marco Rose’s coaching team. “We have the ambition to implement the best and most innovative solutions possible in our daily work,” explains Kai-Norman Schulz, Head of Sports Technologies at the Bundesliga club. “We are therefore delighted to be working with StatsBomb, a company that is developing a very interesting event data approach and making it available to us in various ways. We look forward to what we hope will be a successful collaboration.”

Ismail Tari, Head of Business Development at StatsBomb, is also looking forward to partnering with “one of the most prestigious and well-run clubs in Europe. Borussia Dortmund has a long history of working smart and we’re excited to join them on this journey by providing access to the best data and analytics tools available.”

StatsBomb was founded by Ted Knutson in 2016 and today says it is “the world’s fastest growing football data company. “
