The international break is officially over and the Bundesliga action returns this weekend with an exciting fixture between Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen tomorrow afternoon. We are only two games into the Bundesliga season but Bayern Munich have shown that they mean business, picking up two wins and sitting at the top of the table.
Bayern Munich have hit six in first two games
They certainly haven’t been shy of goals either, hitting three against Hoffenheim in a 3-1 win before putting another three past VfB Stuttgart in a 3-0 victory. With both Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski starting the season in good form in front of goal, it looks like the current champions will be very hard to beat again.
Leverkusen have had a completely contrasting start to their season, with two defeats from their two fixtures. Their last Bundesliga fixture saw them lose 3-1 to Wolfsburg and their opening match of the season ended in a 2-0 defeat to Monchengladbach. Now they face a very tricky away match to Bayern Munich at 3.30pm CEST tomorrow.
Following his injury problems, James Rodriguez could be in line to start for Bayern, although he will struggle to get into the team, as their attacking play has been sensational to watch. Kingsley Coman will miss the match through injury, whilst Matt Hummels also faces a race against time to be fit after picking up a heel injury whilst playing for Germany.
Leverkusen could give a debut to their new goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky but they will be missing Sven Bender and Panos Retsos.
The odds are firmly stacked against Leverkusen at 12/1 for a win.
