The fans of the French top club Olympique Marseille will not be allowed to travel to the Ligue 1 top match at Paris St. Germain on Sunday (20.45 h).
This decision was taken by the French Interior Ministry the day before the matchday 32 fixture between league leaders and runners-up Marseille due to the high level of hostility between supporters of the two clubs. A travel ban between the two regions will be in place throughout Sunday for anyone “claiming or behaving as a fan of Olympique Marseille. “
The last time the teams met in front of fans from both sides in February 2018, there had been serious rioting with several people injured.
There have also been repeated fan turmoil and court storms at various venues throughout the Ligue 1 season so far. RC Lens fans were therefore also banned from travelling to the derby at OSC Lille on Saturday.
