Already before the start of training: Zieler and Co. keep themselves individually fit

Although 96 coach Christoph Dabrowski had only scheduled the start of training for Wednesday, the first players were already on the pitch in Hannover on Monday.

The Hannover 96 training ground is already busy again. Some players arrived two days before the first training session in order to be fit for the start of training on Wednesday. Keeper Ron-Robert Zieler, who suffered a muscle injury in the 1-0 defeat against Schalke in mid-October, added two days of training after the last match of the year against Werder Bremen (1-4). Now he is also preparing himself two days before the start of training.

Franke also trains individually

“I definitely have to do four days longer,” Zieler is quoted as saying on the club website, “so that I can then train one hundred percent with the team again when it starts again.” The 32-year-old worked with goalkeeping coach Michael Ratajczak and athletics coach Markus Böker. 96 captain Marcel Franke as well as Julian Börner and Tom Trybull also visited the club grounds on Monday to prepare individually for the start of training.

The rest of the squad and coach will arrive on Wednesday. Meanwhile, sporting director Marcus Mann refrained from organising a training camp, saying that the team did not want to take any risks in the current situation and therefore did not want to travel abroad.
