To mark the 75th anniversary of Formula One, all the car liveries for the 2025 season will be revealed at a joint launch event in London
This is unprecedented in the 75-year history of Formula One: all ten teams will reveal their car designs for the new racing season simultaneously and in front of a live audience. This will happen for the first time on February 18, 2025 at the O2 Arena in London to mark the 75th anniversary of the world championship.
To give the event a worthy setting, not only the new car designs but also those directly involved will be there: all ten team bosses and all 20 drivers will travel to London a good month before the start of the 2025 Formula One season.
Formula One series boss Stefano Domenicali is already enthusiastic about this concept: “We are bringing together our fans, our superstars and a few very special guests for the first time to officially kick off the new racing season and celebrate our 75th anniversary.”
2025 has the potential to become a “classic” in Formula 1, after 2024 has already seen “many dramas,” says Domenicali. “And so we are offering our fans of all ages the opportunity to get up close to the incredible entertainment spectacle of Formula 1.”
Show-makers have already worked on Las Vegas
The special Formula One presentation is being organized by BrianBurkeCreative, the agency that developed the opening and closing ceremonies for the Las Vegas comeback in 2023. It is an “incredible honor” for the company to continue its partnership with Formula One, as company CEO Brian Burke emphasizes.

He continues: “We work with all ten teams. That’s why fans can be sure that we’ll have a truly exciting live show. On the one hand, we’ll be showing the new car designs, and on the other, we’ll be interviewing the most notable people in Formula 1. And on top of that, there’ll be cutting-edge entertainment. This has never been done in this form before. And it’s not to be missed.”
New cars? Possibly not!
What you might not see in London, though, are the new cars for 2025. In recent years, the teams have often refrained from revealing the final specifications of their vehicles at their official presentations. Usually only the new color design is shown, sometimes on last year’s cars or on “dummy vehicles” that are supposed to lead the competition down the wrong track.
Whether the teams will hold individual presentations in addition to the joint event on February 18 is not yet known for all of them – some teams have already announced that they will not hold their own launch, while others will do so anyway.
Most recently, the ten Formula One teams either held their own events or presented their vehicles at the race track.
This is how it works
The Formula One show begins on February 18, 2025 at 9 p.m. (CET) and lasts two hours.
All ten teams will be present and each will have seven minutes to unveil their respective car, and each team will have a different idea of how best to stand out from the crowd that evening.
For most of them, it will be mainly about the paintwork and the presentation of the sponsors, but others without their own launch are also likely to present their new car – in whatever form it is likely to be before the tests.
The order in which the teams are allowed to hold their presentations is based on the 2024 constructors’ championship, only in reverse. That means it starts with the last-placed team, Sauber, and ends with world champions McLaren.
The teams can use the seven minutes as they wish, whether it be with video content on a giant screen that will be hanging in the arena or with interviews with their drivers, team bosses or other employees. It just has to be approved by Formula 1 in advance.
The event will also include musical performances between the various presentations, while a presenter will host the event.
Will the event be broadcast?
Yes. Formula One itself offers various livestreams on social media. In Germany, Formula One partner Sky will broadcast live from London with its channel Sky Sport F1 from 8:50 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.
2025 as a favorable time
The event was created to help Formula 1 celebrate its 75th anniversary in style and in a way it has never done before. The fact that 2025 will be the last year under the current regulations, so the cars will change little, may have helped.
In 2026, the cars will look different again, which should encourage the teams to hold their own launches again. Some fear that with this year’s system, it might not go down well with partners if their rivals’ logos are shown a little later.
However, all the teams are now on board, and Ferrari, which was still hesitant when the initial announcement was made, now sees an opportunity to use the high-profile launch to announce its new driver, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.
Will all the drivers be there?
The organizers are confident that all 20 drivers will be present, although world champion Max Verstappen joked at the start: “I hope I’m sick this week,” while Lando Norris hinted with a wink that he might be planning a vacation with his title rival Verstappen in 2024 instead.
The fact that all the drivers are present is not only important for the organizers, but also for the teams, who use the evening to receive sponsors.
But that’s F1 for you, all ten teams will be trying to outdo each other. Seven minutes is a long time in motorsport, and having the most memorable presentation is considered an early award for 2025.
The event is expected to last about two hours. At least one of the back-of-the-field teams welcomes the idea, as it allows the teams with smaller budgets to take part in a huge opening event funded by the sport rather than the teams themselves.
