At the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, the ADAC GT Masters also races in front of a record crowd – interest in motorsport continues unabated in Austria
Two races, two record crowds: The ADAC can look back with satisfaction on the weekend surrounding the ADAC GT Masters 2022 at the Red Bull Ring. 25,000 spectators meant a new record for the event.
In addition to the German GT Championship, ADAC attracted a huge supporting programme. In addition to its own GT4 and TCR series, the Porsche Carrera Cup and the GT2 European series also made guest appearances in Styria. This package seemed to convince the visitors.
Of course, the general conditions also help: After two pandemic years, race attendance without conditions has been possible again since the start of the 2022 season. This has been accepted by the public. The Motorsport Arena Oschersleben had already set a record for the event in Magdeburger Börde with 28,000 visitors.
“The enthusiasm of the fans to experience the ADAC GT Masters again without any restrictions is enormous. We are delighted with the great interest and the new spectator records at Oschersleben and the Red Bull Ring. “
“The high popularity underlines the unbroken high attractiveness of the ADAC GT Masters and its attractive supporting programme and is certainly also a result of family-friendly admission prices. From this year onwards, entry for children under 16 is free; we already saw families in the paddock at the first two events. “
The ADAC GT Masters will make a guest appearance in the seaside paradise of Zandvoort from 24 to 26 June. Now that tourism is back in full swing and bathing and motorsport days on the North Sea coast can be combined perfectly, full grandstands – or rather dunes – can also be expected at the Dutch guest event.
In mid-August, the Family and Friends Festival will take place at the Lausitzring – a pilot project that is intended to take the topic of motorsport events into the future.
