The decision is made. AC Milan and Internazionale have chosen the design of Studio Populous for their new stadium.
The new accommodation will be built next to San Siro, so it will officially keep this name. But the working title La Cattedrale, as the designers have called their idea, will probably come up more often.
The two Milanese clubs have chosen this design which is inspired by the two iconic buildings in Milan; the Duomo and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. “It will lead to a unique stadium, which will have no comparable accommodation in the world,” the statement said.
The new stadium will accommodate 65,000 spectators. La Cattedrale is expected to be ready in 2027.
