Noah Dettwiler will contest his first full season in the Moto3 World Championship in 2024 – Agreement with French CIP team
The 2024 Moto3 season will once again see a young rider from Switzerland on the grid. Noah Dettwiler will contest all races for the French CIP team next year. The racing team relies on motorbikes from KTM.
“It’s a dream come true,” Dettwiler says of his first World Championship contract. “I can’t thank all the people who made this possible enough. I’m looking forward to this incredible opportunity.”
The 18-year-old from Basel is currently riding a KTM from the Cuna de Campeones team in the JuniorGP. Top results have been lacking this season. Before the final two weekends in Aragon and Valencia, Dettwiler has 20 points to his name.
This is his third season in the series. In 2021, he did not contest all the races and collected eight points. Last year he finished the championship in 20th place with 23 points. A ninth place was Dettwiler’s best race result in the JuniorGP so far.
The Swiss rider is encouraged and supported by Tom Lüthi, the 2005 125cc World Champion. Dettwiler has already had a taste of the world championship once. In August, he competed in Spielberg with a wild card. He rode a CFMoto from PrüstelGP. Dettwiler finished 20th.
“He is a talented rider,” CIP team owner Alain Bronec is convinced. “With Tom Lüthi as our coach, we are convinced that he is the perfect choice for the World Championship. We will do our best to make sure he can show his full potential on the track.”
Who Dettwiler’s teammate will be next year has not yet been decided. In 2020 and 2021, Austrian Maximilian Kofler rode for the CIP team. He collected World Championship points three times back then. A ninth place (Spielberg 2021) was Kofler’s best result.
With Dettwiler, there will probably only be one German-speaking participant in the Moto3 class next season. Whether the German Lukas Tulovic will get another season with IntactGP in the Moto2 class is still open.
